|News from Mrs. Tesch|
Welcome Back! It’s wonderful to see everyone back at Bryant after a fun and hopefully relaxing summer break. We had a great “Smart Start” day with all of our students in attendance to meet their new teacher, get their picture taken and visit the other stations throughout the building. We started the first day with an all-school assembly to talk about the expectations at Bryant;Work, Respect, Belong. I hope that you have had a chance to look over the pamphlet that was created to show you our expectations in each area of the building. Students and teachers have been working on the expected behaviors throughout the building and will have a chance to review them during the “Work, Respect, Belong Kick Off” which happens on Thursday, September 15th.
Your involvement is critical to your child’s success! You can help by reinforcing high expectations for behavior at home. Throughout the year we will be acknowledging positive behavior through the use of “Golden Tickets.” Staff who witness positive behavior will fill out a golden ticket which the student will be able to place in a jar in their classroom to be entered into a weekly drawing.
During the month of September we will be learning all about your child. In order to meet each child’s individual needs we will be administering a number of benchmark assessments in the areas of reading and math. The results of these assessments will be shared at conferences, if not before. If you have any questions about these assessments, please ask your child’s teacher or myself.
I ask that you be an active part of your child’s education by coming into Bryant as you are available. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available and kids love to see their families here at school. Please call me with any questions, my door is always open. I hope that we have a great year working together and that Bryant exceeds your expectations!
